Senior Accountant

  • Job Context

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hospital Accountant to manage our day-to-day financial operations. In this role, you will oversee patient billing reconciliations, vendor payments, doctor share distributions, and general ledger maintenance to ensure smooth financial workflows across all hospital departments.

  • Job Responsibility

    • Patient Billing & Revenue Auditing: Oversee and audit Outpatient Department (OPD) and Inpatient (IPD) billing operations, ensuring all final settlements align with patient charts and hospital policies.
    • Insurance & Panel Management: Review and reconcile corporate panel bills, government healthcare schemes, and private medical insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursements.
    • Cash & Bank Governance: Supervise daily cash counter collections, verify credit card swipe logs, perform bank reconciliations, and handle daily cash flow reporting.
    • Accounts Payable & Vendor Relations: Manage payments for pharmaceuticals, surgical consumables, and biomedical equipment by matching invoices against Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Received Notes (GRNs).
    • Doctor Share & Payouts: Calculate and verify monthly consulting fees, surgery splits, and procedure shares for visiting and resident consultants.
    • General Ledger & ERP Management: Maintain accurate books of accounts, post complex journal entries, and ensure timely closing of sub-ledgers within the hospital’s ERP system.
    • Inventory Verification: Conduct regular and monthly physical stock counts of pharmacy inventory, medical store items, and asset registries to reconcile system discrepancies.

  • Educational Requirement

    Education: M.Com, MBA Finance, ACCA (part-qualified), or CA Inter / ACMA.

  • Experience Requirement

    • Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a hospital or healthcare setup.
    • Technical Skills: Strong command of healthcare ERP systems (such as Oracle, SAP, or specialized HIMS), alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
